Badghis Hills

The hills around Qala e Now in Badghis province, in the west of Afghanistan look like some sort of computer graphics creation - they're just too smooth. They're covered in very fertile soil and if they were in Australia, they'd be really badly eroded, but for some reason there's no sign of natural erosion here. The erosion on the hill in the foreground at the right was caused by a road cutting below
